The Lair of the Attack Chihuahua
I've been accused of being a bit fanciful in my tales
from time to time. Heaven knows that if you make your living in the corporate
world you don't need much embellishment. What we encounter in the programming
business is bizarre enough in its own right.
For those of you who've already read The
Career Programmer, you'll no doubt remember my references to the wrath
of the security guard's faithful companion. For the skeptics among you, I
have procured (at great personal risk, I might add) some rare footage of this
fierce Guardian of the Corporate Goodies. Following are a couple of quickly
snapped photographs of Angelo, the night watchman's trusty attack Chihuahua.
And no, I'm not going to tell you what company I was working at when I met him.
My lawyers are afraid of him, too. Especially after what he's been through with
Hurrican Katrina.
When off duty, attack Chihuahuas are
known to frequent watering holes of
dubious reputation. It's cheaper than
therapy.
|
Doing his best to be inconspicuous while
manning his security post, Angelo
cautiously eyes the 5th floor window,
just in case.
|
Before they've had their morning coffee,
attack Chihuahuas are not to be trifled
with. Trust me.
|
And you thought you'd worked in some strange companies?
While the non-disclosure clauses I've signed in
various employment contracts prohibit me from confirming or denying
the existence of attack Chihuahuas in specific companies,
the fierce but understandably jumpy Angelo has retired from corporate life
and is now the official guardian of the goodies at
Chi-wa-wa Ga-ga,
located in the heart of the French Quarter.
Having returned from the evacuation of New Orleans, Angelo, Angel
and Justine are back in business, making sure that it's still the
place to be for the well dressed attack Chihuahua.

Angelo In The News
In a move symbolic of New Orleans' continuing recovery following the wrath of hurricane Katrina, one of the French Quarter's small but beloved residents has returned to his post in a storefront on French Market Place.
